History

Formerly known as St Vincent's Home, the residential aged community was officially opened as Ozanam Villa in 1980 by the Hon A J MacKenzie MP, Member for Calare and blessed by Most Reverend Albert Thomas, Bishop of Bathurst. Fundraising committees were established and support was given by all sections of the Orange district to furnish the hostel.

A dementia specific unit was opened in 2001. In 2005, the Villa came under the umbrella of the St Vincent de Paul Aged and Special Care Services, which was a new company established by the St Vincent de Paul Society to run its aged care services. In May 2007, Ozanam Villa became part of Catholic Healthcare and in May 2008 was renamed St Francis Aged Care.
