Ozanam Villa is a 76-bed low care residential aged community with ageing in place, located in the centre of Coffs Harbour. Each of the single rooms has its own ensuite facilities. Established in 1971, the hostel is renowned for high-quality care.
Staff provide an individualised care program for each resident in a homelike environment. There is an emphasis on providing high quality care and service for residents and their families.
The villa has its own community bus, providing weekly outings to local areas. Independence and a continuation of community involvement are encouraged for all residents.
A variety of individual and group activities are scheduled each month. Group social activities, such as carpet bowls, concerts, parties and special celebrations, are accommodated in the large community hall. A beautiful chapel is located within the facility, providing weekly services and a quiet area for personal reflection.
Ozanam Villa is accredited by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency.
Ozanam Villa at Coffs Harbour will close at the end of 2008, as the current building is more than 30 years old and will not meet 2008 building standards. Residents living at Ozanam Villa will be relocated to either:
History
Ozanam Villa is named after the founder of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Frederick Ozanam. Frederick was a French University student who saw the need to organise help for his fellow citizens. In 1893 he called together some of his fellow students and, at the age of 23, began the Society that now flourishes throughout the world.
In 1968, Parish Priest Father McEvoy recognised the need to provide care for the aged. In the following three years, monies were raised and on 7 September 1971, Ozanam Villa - Home for the Aged was opened. Strategic planning has been ongoing since and there are plans to relocate Ozanam Villa by the end of 2008.

A drop off point is available near the entry to reception and there are two on-site car parks.
