History
The Coolamon is a rare local tree. When first naming the new service via a community competition, ‘Coolamon' was the most popular choice of name, as it associated the service with the district's pioneers to whom the Coolamon tree was a common sight.
Coolamon Villa was constructed with funds raised by the local community in 1983 and opened in January 1984. Coolamon Villa, previously an aged care ministry of the St Vincent De Paul Society, joined Catholic Healthcare in May 2007.
The original building accommodated 41 residents, before 1991 and 2002 extensions and upgrading improved the standard of accommodation to allow for the care of 55 residents.
